Expert Seminar on “Children as Participants in Theological Research” (ChaPTheR)

Seit Herbst 2023 kommen in diesem vom Lehrstuhl geförderten Projekt Forscher*innen aus der ganzen Welt (von Australien bis zu den USA, von Finnland bis Südafrika) in Videokonferenzen zusammen, um sich über die Rolle von Kindern als Teilnehmer an theologischer Reflexion und Forschung auszutauschen. In den fünf Zoom-Sitzungen hat sich das Thema „Diaspora“ als global verbindend herauskristalisiert ebenso wie die Frage nach der Rolle von Spiritualität, Resilienz und religiösen Traditionen in Krisensituationen im Leben von Kindern. Das Projekt gehört zum Forschungsbereich TRA4 („Individuen, Institutionen und Gesellschaften“) 1und von diesem gefördert; es wird vom Seminar für Religionspädagogik der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät 2organsiert. Vom 28. bis 30. April 2025 wird in der Villa "Impulse" der Universität Bonn (Adenauerallee, 131) ein Expert Seminar zum Thema "When children have a transformative voice in turbulent times" für die Teilnehmer*innen des Projekts organisiert. Am ersten Abend, dem 28. April, wird eine Public Lecture von Prof. Shantelle Weber3 (Universität Stellenbosch in Südafrika) mit dem Titel „A Child will lead us: Exploring childhood and theological education through simplicity and play” gehalten. Die Veranstaltung findet um 19:00 Uhr statt (Seminarraum 1, Rabinstr. 8, 53111 Bonn). Jede/r ist herzlich eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen. Zur besseren Planung ist eine Anmeldung bis zum 22. April 2025 per Email an sylvia.sokolowski@uni-bonn.de erbeten.
Since fall 2023, researchers from all over the world (from Australia to the USA, from Finland to South Africa) have come together in Zoom conferences to reflect on the role of children as participants in theological reflection and research. One of the central themes that has emerged in the five Zoom sessions is the topic of “diaspora” and the question of the role of spirituality, resilience and religious traditions in crisis situations in children' s lives. The project is part of TRA4 (Individuals, Institutions and Societies)1 and ist funded by it; it is organized by the Chair of Religious Education4. From 28 to 30 April 2025, an Expert Seminar entitled "When children have a transformative voice in turbulent times" will be organized for the participants of the project at the Villa "Impulse" of the University of Bonn (Adenauerallee, 131). On the first evening, April 28, at 7 pm in Rabinstraße (seminar room 1), a public lecture will be held by Prof. Shantelle Weber3 (Stellenbosch University in South Africa) entitled “A Child will lead us: Exploring childhood and theological education through simplicity and play”. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. The event will take place in person at 7.00pm (CET) (Seminar room 1, Rabinstr. 8, 53111 Bonn), but participation via Zoom is also possible.
